At AMERICAN FUNDS & TRUSTS, INC., protecting your privacy is very important to us.  We want you to understand what information we collect and how we use it.  We collect and use “nonpublic personal information” in order to provide our customers with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible.  We place a high priority on keeping customer information secure and private.  Please note that this privacy policy applies to former customers as well as current customers.

What Information We Collect and From Whom We Collect It:

To better understand your financial needs and make you aware of new investments and services that could help you reach your goals, we may collect “nonpublic personal information” about you from the following sources:

·         Information we receive from you on applications or other forms such as your name, address, and social security number;

·         Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others such as your account balance, transaction history and parties to transactions; and

·         Information which may be received from other sources with your consent.

What Information We Disclose and To Whom We Disclose It:

We do not sell, share or disclose any information about you or any of our clients to non-affiliated third-party marketing companies.  We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to our affiliates or non-affiliates without your express consent, except as permitted by law.  We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, to persons or companies that perform services on our behalf and to other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements.  All of these companies have similar privacy policies.

We do not disclose non-public personal information about you in connection with the transfer of your account to another financial institution or if you decide to close your account or become an inactive customer, unless it is at your request or the request of your representative.  If we change this policy or find it necessary to disclose your personal information in a way that is inconsistent with this policy, we will notify you in advance and give you the opportunity to “opt out” of such disclosure.

Our Security Procedures:

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information and only allow disclosures to persons and companies as permitted by law to assist in providing products or services to you.  We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your non-public personal information.  We instruct our employees to use strict standards of care in handling the personal financial information of customers.  As a general policy our staff will not discuss or disclose information regarding an account except with authorized personnel of your broker dealer or as required by law or pursuant to regulatory request and/or authority.

We hope this information is useful to you.  Confidentiality is the key to a strong relationship between you and your financial advisor, and we are committed to protecting your privacy.
